Help: Music/Graphics from System to System Empty Help: Music/Graphics from System to System

I ran into this problem earlier today. Even if I compose music in MML and save it as one of the empty song slots, it means nothing to other DSi's or 3DS's. The music is only saved onto my console, BGMPLAY 128 will play a different song system to system.

So, is the only way to guarantee music I write goes with the program to actually write the music into the program? It seems like a really big hassle to write music on a program that might have many other things going on. I would much rather write music in a separate Program, and have it read by or added to the main Program later, without having to completely recreate it every time I want to use that song and share it in a public program.

If my problem isn't clear enough, I can try to explain myself a little better. Thank you.

Edit: And I'll be running into this same problem with anything else I make; sprites, backgrounds, whatever. It's probably a really important thing to know how to deal with.

What I do for my music is I create the music- and I save it as a Memory file. And have the memory get shipped off along with the program. So when I need the music I call it in via Music.mem

That sounds like a way to do it! Thanks. Guess you have to send huge packages though if you make a lot of sprites and music just for a single program, so the built in are pretty nice.

EDMCOMPO saves Music as .GRP files and not .MEM files. I don't really know how the program reads either of these, I haven't been messing much with files yet. I don't think just loading them is going to work: won't they need to be interpreted? Or am I wrong there?

It only needs to be loaded (thankfully)
To save music as a MEM file, you would go into editor, compose the music there.

Then save as .MEM file!
